2006 News

Irwindale, CA., 3/25/06 Legends- For the first Irwindale race of the year, we didn't do very well. We just couldn't get the car right. Lindsey finished 9th out of 34 cars.

Las Vegas, NV., 4/14/06 Legends- We decided to go to Vegas instead of Irwindale. It was our first race at the Bullring since last year and we did pretty well. The Pros and the Masters ran together and the Semi-Pros were separate. In the main the car behind Lindsey rammed into her, and then the car behind him hit him. It sent Lindsey sideways and the car that was behind her was jammed in her left door. The race was red flagged to get the cars off the track, and Lindsey's car was good enough to keep going. Lindsey finished 5th out of the Pros and Masters.

Las Vegas, NV., 4/15/06 Legends- The second day Lindsey was doing pretty well, and again for the main they split the Pros from the Semi-Pros and Lindsey finished 5th again.

Irwindale, CA., 4/29/06 Legends- The car has felt so much better since we came back from Vegas; Lindsey was running where she should be. She finished 2nd out of 30 cars.

Irwindale, CA., 5/13/06 Legends- Another race at the famous Irwindale Speedway and another 2nd place right behind Tom Landreth. Lindsey finished 2nd out of 29 cars.

Irwindale, CA., 6/3/06 Legends- When we finally were able to beat Tom Landreth, someone else comes along. Lindsey finished 2nd out of 30 cars.

Irwindale, CA., 6/17/06 Auto Club Late ModelsIt was Lindsey's first Auto Club Late Model race. She had practiced at Irwindale a few times to get used to the car and everyone felt that she was ready to run a race. She qualified 18th out of 32 cars. In the main Lindsey was doing well. On lap 19 there was a fifteen-car wreck, in turn two and the back straight, which Lindsey got wrapped up in. Body pieces were hanging all over the front end and the right front tire was flat, so she was towed to her pit. When she got there her crew was already there to start working on the car. They taped up the front end, changed the right front tire and wheel, and then they noticed there was more wrong with the car than just cosmetics. So the team decided that it would be unsafe for her to go back out. So being 23 laps down she finished 28th, though she did turn a time in the main well enough to have finished 7th.

Irwindale, CA., 6/24/06 Legends- The whole day we were kind of struggling. Lindsey was running in 3rd most of the main. The car in front of Lindsey kept on blocking and sending her diving to the inside, going under the line, to avoid a wreck between them. He did it a few times to her and on the last time the officials told Lindsey to give up a position (because you're not aloud under the white line), when she didn't even gain a position by doing so. So she gave up the position and it was too close to the end of the race for Lindsey to get her position back. Lindsey finished 4th out of 27 and the day concluded in a protest, which they did nothing about.

Irwindale, CA., 7/1/06 Legends- We couldn't get the car to handle today. Lindsey finished 4th out of 29.

Irwindale, CA., 7/8/06 Legends- The car was pretty good, and the race was mainly between Tom Landreth and Lindsey. She was looking under him every now and then, but couldn't get under him enough. There were a lot of yellow flags, and since the race was taking so long they shortened our green flag laps. If it were not for so many yellows Lindsey might have had a chance at beating Tom. Lindsey was getting better at the end and Tom was falling off. On the last restart it was a green, white, checkered and going in turn one Lindsey tried to get under Tom, but couldn't. Going into turn three Connor Cantrell (the fast qualifier) dove under Lindsey and at the start/finish line he barely got Lindsey. So Lindsey finished 3rd out of 31 cars.

Irwindale, CA., 7/15/06 Legends- The car wasn't as good as we wanted it to be most of the day, but we were still kind of fast. Lindsey was in third for some time but she finally got by her teammate KJ Garrison, giving her the chance to catch Landreth. Lindsey ended up finishing 3rd out of 30 cars.

Irwindale, CA., 7/22/06 Auto Club Late ModelsIn Lindsey's second Auto Club Late Model race she did just as well, if not better. She qualified 14th out of 28 cars. In the main she was making her way up, battling with the #35 car most of the time. On lap 20 she finally got past him on the front straight. In turn two, the #35 got loose and had to chase it up the track. In doing that he spun Lindsey around, into the wall, and trapped himself. Lindsey was taken to the infield on the hook and the #35 car kept going. Lindsey ended up finishing 24th, being 19 laps down.

Irwindale, CA., 7/29/06 Legends- The car wasn't too bad in practice and wasn't that great in qualifying. Lindsey qualified 7th out of 27 cars. Lindsey ran in second place almost the whole race. Towards the end she was passed by her team mate, KJ Garrison, and Lindsey finished 3rd.

Irwindale, CA., 8/12/06 Auto Club Late Models- The car was ok, but it wasn't handling as well as we wanted it to. Lindsey was 14th fastest in the first and second practice out of 26 cars.  We were getting ready to qualify when Lindsey realized the battery was dead, the power wouldn't turn on. So the team tried push starting the car , but it didn't work. We tried to figure out what was wrong with the car, to get out there for qualifying. We couldn't figure it out, so we pushed the car back to our pit. We worked on it for a while and we couldn't figure out what it was. So we packed everything up for the night.   -  Lindsey would like to thank everyone for everything they've done, especially this weekend, for running everywhere to try to get the car out there for qualifying. Thankyou Dad, all three Jeffs, Vince, Rick, Dave, Brian, and Marco.

Irwindale, CA., 8/19/06 Legends- We were working on the car almost all day and we finally got it together for the main.  Lindsey finished 5th out of 31 cars.

Irwindale, CA., 8/26/06 Auto Club Late Models- The car was pretty good and Lindsey was pretty fast all day; in the top ten. Lindsey qualified 8th out of 32 cars. In the main Lindsey was running really well, still in the top ten. Then on lap nine Lindsey got sideways and spun out. Then the car that was a little bit behind her came and hit her. So Lindsey was out of the race. Looking at the times after the race, Lindsey turned a good enough time to have finished 7th. Overall Lindsey did very well and the whole team is very excited about running the Late Models next year.

Irwindale, CA., 9/2/06 Legends- We have been having a lot of problems with the car and brakes lately, so the car was way off. Resulting in Lindsey qualifying 21st out of 31 cars and finishing 16th.

Irwindale, CA., 9/9/06 Legends- We finally got the car pretty close to where it used to be. Lindsey started 4th in the main event and finished 3rd out of 30 cars.

Irwindale, CA., 9/16/06 Legends- The car was loose all day and the left front was locking up, but we were still fast. Lindsey qualified 5th out of 24 cars. We tried to get the car close for the main, but it was still loose and it took too long for the car to come in. Lindsey started second in the main and she stayed on the outside for nine laps, leading laps four and six. She started falling off little by little; from running on the outside for so long. She finally got to the inside when she was in fifth. Lindsey ended up finishing 4th.

Irwindale, CA., 9/23/06 Legends- The car was pretty fast all day, but we were still having brake problems. Lindsey qualified 4th out of 25 cars, only five hundredths of a second off from the leader. For the main, the invert was four so Lindsey started first. She led the first 10 laps and ended up finishing 3rd overall.

Irwindale, CA., 9/30/06 Legends- This was the last race of the year, and Lindsey's last race in Legends cars. For Lindsey to win the championship she had to finish twenty-four positions ahead of Tom Landreth.  Finally not having to worry about brake problems, Lindsey was fast all day. She qualified 2nd out of 33 cars, and started 4th in the main. Most of the race Lindsey was running in third place. It seemed that every car she passed she had to pass twice because the yellow flag kept coming out, so she would have to give it back. On the last lap she passed third place for the second time, finishing 3rd in the main. So Lindsey finished second in track points at Irwindale.

Blythe, CA., 10/13/06 Late Models- This weekend we raced at the I-10 Speedway in Blythe, and at that track they run the Late Models and Super Late Models together. The last time Lindsey ran there was when she ran her legend, which was about a year ago.  Lindsey was running with the top cars which were ASA Late Models (which have about 100 hp more), but her tires were going away little by little.  She ended up qualifying ninth and finishing second in the heat.  For the main Lindsey started ninth out of about thirteen cars.  In the beginning she was keeping up with the pack, but Lindsey said the car was very unpredictable.  So Lindsey ended up finishing seventh and after the race we noticed that Lindsey's right rear was almost totally flat, which explained why the car was so unpredictable.

Havasu, CA., 10/20/06 Late Models- For this weekend the team decided to go to Havasu, which we later found out was a good idea.  It was Lindsey's first time ever on the track, which has a longer straight away and sharper turns than Blythe.  Lindsey was fast all day and improving her time every lap.  She ended up qualifying second out of about thirteen cars, mixed with Late Models and ASA Late Models.  In the main Lindsey started on the pole and ended up finishing third overall, which is the best Lindsey has finished in the Late Model so far.
